JLOS Open Day Kicks off in Mbale
MBALE - The 2nd JLOS Open day kicked off in Mbale On December 1 2010 at Mbale Cricket grounds as part of the sector's publicity campaign. The Open Day was an opportunity for the JLOS institutions to interact with the general public and showcase the services they provide with the District Chain Linked Committees taking the lead.
The colorful exhibition was preceded by a march around Mbale town with the Senior Resident Judge of Mbale, His Lordship Justice Stephen Musota as the chief walker. On display were stalls manned by personnel and staff from the various JLOS institutions each complete with information materials such as publications, forms, products and other displays with the aim of informing the public of the work they do and making the services more accessible and brining them closer to the people.
Institutions also showcased uniforms and other specialised clothing used in their interaction with the public.The Assistant Registrar Mbale High Court, Ms Lilian Christine Naula Mwandha said the people of Mbale were privileged to host this year's JLOS open day and thanked the organisers for the support rendered to the Mbale DCC during the planning and coordination of this event.
The guest of honor His Lordship Justice Stephen Musota addressed the participants by highlighting the achievements of JLOS over the years and afterwards declared the exhibition open. Justice Musota was later taken on a tour of all the stalls on display.
The JLOS open day was one of the events leading up to the 5th National JLOS Forum that is taking place at Mbale Resort Hotel from Dec 2-3, 2010.
